The mission took place in North Wales and was done in close cooperation with dr Kathryn Jones (IAITH Welsh Centre for Language Planning) and Heledd Williams (Aberystwyth University). The primary aim of the mission was to collect data that would allow me to investigate attitudes of Polish migrants to Wales towards the Welsh language, their motivation behind sending their children to Welsh language schools and the linguistic opportunities and challenges the migrants experience when acquiring Welsh (and English) in statutory and non-statutory settings. The secondary aim was to establish professional links with Welsh scholars and language education providers with the aim of possible future collaboration.
