9:45-10:30 Research overview on new speakers and non-native speakers from a critical sociolinguistic perspective by Joan Pujolar.

Coffee break

11:00-12:30 Qualitative data analysis: discussion seminar by  Joan Pujolar & Caroline Kerfoot.

13:30- 16:30 Data session on new speakers by Caroline Kerfoot & Joan Pujolar


This event is geared for PhD Students and other early career researchers interested in the practicalities of interpretive data analysis.

The event will combine a presentation on how work on new speakers can help engage with the discipline critically, a general reflection on issues of analysis plus a data session in which a subset of the participants will present preliminary data of their own.

Registration is free but participation is limited.
